A couple of months back Google announced Android N and made it available to the general public in the form of a developer preview allowing Nexus owners to test Google's new OS. At the Google I/O, it official name was know “Nougat”. In mid-july, Nougat’s latest developer preview the “developer preview 5” was released and people started speculating that this will be the last and that Google's next announcement will be Nougat's official release. So here we are, on the 22nd July, Google officially announced Android 7.0 Nougat and made it available in it final form to the general public. Android 7.0 Nougat will be released in the form of an OTA (Over The Air) update as usual in the upcoming weeks and the first people to benefit from it will the owners of Nexus phones thus the Nexus 5X, 6P and the Nexus 9 and the General Mobile 4G from the Android One program. However those who had registered to the Android Beta Program will be the very first one to receive Google's new OS. Also, among the phones stated above will be the LG V20 from LG and it will be the first smartphone from a third manufacturer to receive Nougat. The LG V20 will be announced on the 6th September at the IFA in Berlin that will open it doors on the 1st September. As for other smartphones from other brands, we’ll have to wait as the release will take longer for them to make necessary adjustments. However only the most recent ones are eligible but nothing is sure. You can check your phone’s brand update schedule if it has one for more informations (I may write something about this). Nougat is to contain up to 250 new features ranging from multiwindows, improvement in Doze, switching between 2 recent apps by double taping the multitasking button, Vulkan for improve gaming sessions, Daydream which is Google's VR solution and 72 new emojis that will be added to the 1500 emojis already existing on Android just to name these. However I'm deceived by Google this time because the Infinix Hot 2 isn't eligible to Nougat while we were promised to 2 years automatic updates from Google including major release. But here the only Android One smartphone to receive Nougat is the General Mobile 4G hence Google's promise was fake (I feel scam). However let us wait only time will tell. For more informations check Google's page dedicated to Nougat or visit this previous blog post I've written
