The Minister of Higher Education of Cameroon Jacques Fame Ndongo has signed this 27 Jully 2016 a convention with the Chinese company Sichuan Telecom Construction Engineering co. Ltd called the "E-national Higher Education". This convetion aims at increasing the use university students in Cameroon make of ICT. According to the Minister of Higher Education, the President of the Republic of Cameroon aims at implementing the project of "a student a computer" registered in the "Special Youth" plan framework. This project consist of giving out free computers to university students all over the country. This will help prepare students to their stowage in the digital economy. Moreover, with this "E-national Higher Education" program, Each state university in th country will be equipped with a digital development center that will help bring a decisive impulse to distant learning, scanning the university administration, collaborative networking and secure interconnection of public universities This program aims at equipping at most 500 000 university students and will only take place during the academic year 2016-2017 The government of the country is using these strategy in order to increase the degree of implementation of ICT in the country's economy. According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), Cameroon is ranked among the 20 countries with the least integration of ICT in the social and economic development. The WEF takes in account various facts such as the level of utilisation of ICT in the puclic administration, enterprises and population and the socio-economic impact of these technologies in the country. We can therefore conclude that these strategy taken up by the government although minimal will help improve the country's position in this domain.
