So many Africans are interested in making the most use of the internet to develop new skills, create jobs, participate in the construction of their continent and so much more but they're facing so much barriers such as the poor penatration of the internet in the continent, digital divide, unavailability of frameworks to help them or simply the high cost of training. However, Google has decided this April 2016 to invest in the training of 1 million Africans in digital skills. Google admitted it’ll be a tough task but however persevere, and yes it's showing results. After 6 months of training, the company is proud of celebrating the complete training of 500000 Africans in digital skills, thus showing the hungriness of Africans for the digital. This has enabled these Africans to build businesses, create jobs and in a similar way boost the economic growth on the continent. If you're interested in participating to this Program, you can access it physically or “virtually” through Google's Digital Skills for Africa website. This website contains up to 89 online lessons ranging from web analytics, to social media management and mobile marketing and so much more. The website is available in English and French and very soon in Portuguese. This is in order to enable more people in more Africans countries to make the most use of the web. Completing the Program will earn you a certificate of online proficiency. digitalskills.withgoogle.com
