Huawei, the famous smartphone and telecom equipment manufacturer didn't reach it 2016 objectives and blames it on the political conditions of the year. Yesterday, Huawei has seen a fall in it growth for the year 2016 passing from 35% to 32%. In total, 2016 will have brought 520 billion Yuan (71 billion €) to the firm at the current price. Remember that Huawei is not just a smartphone manufacturer but also a telecom equipment manufacturer and these numbers concern it overall revenue. Eric Xu, the CEO of the firm speaks in a new year message destined to his employees. The year 2016 was full of complications - both economic and political - that have emerged around the world. Nevertheless, we remained focused on our strategy and dedicated ourselves to innovation and creating real value for our customers. In 2017, we will face even more uncertain global political and economic events. However even if the firm didn't achieve it objectives, it was still able to assert it position as the third smartphone manufacturer worldwide behind Apple and Samsung. From the graph above, we can see that the firm has only experience a growth in 2016 on the smartphone market. They sold 1.5 billion smartphones in 2016 against 1.4 billion smartphones in 2015 enabling them to indeed maintain a growth in their smartphone division.
