After StageFright in 2015, it is now time for QuadRooter, to impose a security concern an Android. It allow hackers to take control of our devices remotely. This new fault in mobile security is directly concerning all mobile devices equipped with Qualcomm's chips and that include more than 900 million Android users. This fault has been revealed by the American company Check Point that is specialised in IT security in April. According to them, all devices equipped with a processor or modem from Qualcomm are vulnerable to a total of 4 security faults judged serious. They also add that this fault are directly integrated to the drivers making it more complicated to solve. However for now 2 of the faults have been corrected by the monthly security updates of Jully and August from Google. This faults affect several Android terminals even the most recent ones such as the LG G4, G5, HTC One A9, Xiaomi Mi Note, Sony Xperia X Performance and many more. |
