The screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been tested by the famous website DisplayMate specialise in testing screens. As you can guess, the Note 7 has the best screen of all smartphones on the market nowaday. This result to the integration of the OLED technology, the support of a larger calorimetry space and the HDR mode. According to the measures of DisplayMate, the screen of the Note 7 reaches a maximum luminosity of 500cd/m2 and according to various medias, this is simply the highest value ever measure on a smartphone. This will make readings in sunlight easier and more comfortable. In addition to that, AMOLED will bring an excellent contrast as well as a better calorimetry. Indeed Samsung improved the calorimetry of it Note 7 compared to that of the S7 as it now supports a DCI-P3 calorimetry that is used in cinemas and on 4K tv allowing it to bring more colors compared to classical sRGB. Also, on the Note7 Samsung brought a new system to manage the blue filter allowing us reduce the blue light emitted by our smartphones' screens judged bad for our sleep. It is possible to vary the intensity of that filter so as to reduce up to 80% of that blue light. According to DisplayMate, that gives a color temperature of 2400°K to 4400°K that gives a yellow screen. This will again make readings in low light conditions easier and more comfortable. Also, Samsung added a dual light sensor (one at the back and another one at the front) to better manage the auto luminosity of the phone. Lastly, the Note 7 support videos in HDR. This means that the screen will be abe to retranscribe a maximum level of different luminosity in an image and also to display more colors on the screen making it to display images that are closer to reality.
