Twitter's CEO, Jack Dorsey affirmed to be working on the integration of a new feature allowing users to modify a tweet after their publication.
Imagine you've written a tweet thinking it’s completely void of any grammatical, conjugation or orthography errors and you then pressed on that blue “tweet’ button. You then realised that big mistake you’ve made and you then have to delete you're tweet and re-write it. Or you just omitted an hashtag or you forgot to mention a user.
Jack Dorsey has recently organised a questions-answers session with the users of the platform to gather thoughts from them for the improvement of the social network. Many participants had suggested the addition of the above mentioned feature. Twitter's CEO reacted through a tweet saying that it was <<absolutely necessary>>.
The question many are asking now is the way this new feature will be integrated. Wether the modification will be authorised for a short time after publication or at any time. Jack Dorsey precise that a “changelog” will be used allowing users to see what has been edited after publication.
The same feature is already present on Facebook, where after editing a comment/post, a small “Edited” mention is added, and allows to see the first version of the post.
This new feature may arrive in 2017. When exactly ? No information on that but what we know is that it’ll ba available to all users and not only the certified ones. Other integrations have been proposed, notably better tools to manage abusive behaviours and Jack Dorsey answered saying that <<it is the principal priority>>
