No moreransom.org is a website created in partnership with the European police office Europol that'll help victims of ransomwares to decrypt their encrypted data that are victim of a ransomware and who are then oriented to a tool to help them decrypt their data. According to Europol, the European police office, ransomwares has become more and more popular over the years among cybercriminals. This practice just consists of sending a “ransomware” to their target that'll encrypt it whole computer. This latter will then have no other choice but to pay the ransom imposed by the criminal to have his/her data back. They have associated with Kaspersky Labs and Intel Security to create this website full of tools to help you decrypt your data. For this, you’ll have to head on to the page “Crypto Sheriff” of the website and then upload 2 encrypted files and the message send by the attacker. You’ll then be proposed some tools to helps you decrypt your data. Don't worry you'll be guided through the process. However for now not all data can be decrypted depending on the type of encryption. The researchers keep working to make available more tools to decrypt a wide range of encryption format. It is however advice not to pay any ransom imposed by the attacker. It may be difficult with the frustration that it can cause, but it is advisable to rather pay the ransom in case there's no solution left. The service has proven successful. More than 2500 users who were victims of ransomwares have had their data back. Similarly, it has helped to save more than 1.34millions euros that could have gone to the hands of the criminals.
