At the CES 2017, the French startup Greenerwave is proposing an innovative solution to WiFi signals reception in buildings. The plate system by Greenerwave collects the WiFi signals that circulates in a building and aggregate them before sending them to the receiver. The waves generated by our router bounce on the walls and on objects inside the building and becouse of this, some of them will not reach the receiver (smartphones, compters etc) or they just cancel out each other thereby reducing the receiving signal strenght. The solution proposed by the french startup here is to place "smart mirrors" in the building that'll collect these waves to then focus them on the reveiver The interest here is not to add more waves unlike repeaters or MIMO devices but to recycle the existing one. According to them, this helps to increase the bandwidth by 4 to 6 times more and to stabilise the connexion. These plates can easily be dissimulated in mirrors and can be controlled in bluetooth through a mobile app. For npw we don't know if or when they'll start selling their plates but stay tune for more info.
