The famous remittance service, WorldRemit hits the Congolese Market, now allowing it diaspora to send money to their relatives back in RD Congo who can receive the money directly on their phones.
For this, they've partnered with the telecom operator Airtel, allowing their customers to receive their remittances directly on their Airtel Money accounts. Also, they've partnered with Moneytrans RDC for the cash pickups, allowing the debtors to withdraw the cash from any Moneytrans branch in RDC.

Mobile Money services are financial integration factors in Congo, where less than 18% of the population has a bank account ... These services are, for the Congolese, a safe way to send, receive or save money, but also collect salaries, pay bills or shop in local shops
Thereby by putting their expertise for the benefit of the Congolese, with at least 400,000 transactions from more than 50 countries to more than 125 destinations, where one third of these transactions have to do with Mobile Money account.
WorldRemit therefore allows more than 1 million Congolese who have subscribe to Airtel Money to receive remittances from abroad, in addition to the 2.6 million subscribers to MTN Mobile Money in Cameroon in Central Africa.
